Happy New Year!
The YNPN-NYC Advisory Board would like to thank all of you -- our members -- for making 2006 our best year yet! In 2006, YNPN-NYC grew to over 2,000 members, celebrated its fourth anniversary, and held multiple professional development events and networking Hangouts. Our listserv is more active than ever. We hope to do even more in 2007 to further our mission to connect New York City's young nonprofit professionals, and as always, we welcome your suggestions and comments at info@ynpnnyc.org.

YNPN-NYC To Host National YNPN Conference
YNPN-NYC was recently selected to host the second National YNPN Conference in March 2007. The one day gathering in New York City will bring together more than fifty nonprofit leaders from various YNPN Chapters including Washington DC, Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago, Austin, Denver and the Bay Area. The conference will give the various chapters an opportunity to share strategies and learn from one another and will be held in conjunction with YNPN-NYC's Fifth Anniversary celebration.

What is the mission of your organization and who do you serve?
The American Red Cross in one of the nation's premier humanitarian organizations. Our mission is to provide relief to victims of disasters (natural and man-made) and to prepare the public to prepare and respond to emergencies. Our chapter's jurisdiction covers New York City, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Orange Counties. read more

GuideStar Survey Reveals Both Charitable Donations and Demand for Services Up
In a survey conducted with 3,820 individuals representing over 1,371 organizations, more than half reported that contributions had increased in the first nine months of 2006 compared to the first nine months of 2005. In addition, about 72 percent reported that demand for their organization's services had grown. Read the release and full survey.

First-Ever IT Staffing Survey Conducted by N-Ten
Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network's (N-Ten) IT Staffing survey included not only IT salaries for different job functions but also IT budgets and expenditures, satisfaction in IT staffing, and level and areas of IT outsourcing in more than 1,000 nonprofits.
