The Launching a Campaign Intensive, being run by entrepreneurshipEDGE in collaboration with CAMBA, NYU’s Moral Courage Project, & Griot’s Roll Film Production Services, aims to provide participants with:
- An overview of how a range of campaigns (health, homelessness, education, and so on) were launched (nonprofits from a variety of fields will come and talk about campaigns)
- Topics in: campaign strategy, marketing and film, volunteer recruitment, lobbying and community organizing (schedule below)
- Provide opportunities for participants to get involved in nonprofit campaigns
SCHEDULE:
10:00 – 10:30AM: Introduction and Icebreaker
10:30 – 11:15AM: Campaign Strategy and Volunteer Recruitment – Ramona Gant, Campaign/Project Coordinator, CAMBA’s Respite Bed Program
11:15 – 11:30AM: Networking/Break
11:30 – 12:15PM: Campaign Strategy Advanced – Annie McWilliams, Associate Director of NYU’s Moral Courage Project
12:15 – 1:00PM: Lunch
1:00 – 1:45PM: Creating a powerful marketing strategy through social media and video – Derrick Guest, CEO, Griot’s Roll Film Production Services
1:45 – 2:00PM: Break
2:00 – 2:45PM: Lobbying and Community Organizing – Kimmada Le Gendre. Work experience includes Teach for America and the New York Public Interest Group, where she worked on several campaigns focusing on higher education and environmental and consumer rights).
2:45 – 3:00PM: Optional: signing up for nonprofit campaigns
